Savor the Season: Our Winter Wedding Tasting Experience

There’s something extra special about opening our doors to couples who have already said “yes” to forever and to celebrating with us. Our recent tasting event at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills was exactly that kind of moment: a chance to bring our booked couples together, give them a true taste of their wedding day, and let them experience just how personalized and fun their menu can be.

From the moment guests arrived, the space was filled with excitement (and the best kind of anticipation—what to try first!). The evening was designed to feel less like a formal tasting and more like a curated culinary experience, where couples could explore a variety of stations that showcase the versatility of our offerings.

They first had the chance to try hand-passed hors d’oeuvres and explore unique and interactive options, like our Asian fusion station, which brought bold flavors and a modern touch to the experience. The pretzel station added a savory, comforting element that’s perfect for keeping guests energized throughout the evening.

3Another one of the highlights of the night was our meat and fish station, where guests enjoyed hearty, flavorful options that are perfect for creating a memorable main course experience, and couples had the opportunity to mix and match selections that best fit their vision.

For those looking to add a fun, late-night twist to their celebration, the donut station was a crowd favorite. The build-your-own dessert bar was another standout, allowing couples to get creative and think about how their guests can customize their own perfect ending to the night.imageAnd of course, no tasting would be complete without drinks. Our seasonal cocktails and mocktails were thoughtfully crafted to reflect the time of year, offering refreshing and festive options for every guest. The espresso and cappuccino bar was the perfect finishing touch: ideal for that post-dinner pick-me-up or a cozy addition to the night’s dessert offerings.

What Our Couples Are Saying

One of the most meaningful parts of the evening was getting to connect with our couples and hear more about their journey leading up to booking with us.

When asked how important the food was in making their decision, the answer was clear: very important. Many couples shared how much they loved being able to interact with our Executive Chef, Mike, early in the process. Having that direct connection and the opportunity to talk through ideas, preferences, and possibilities made a lasting impression. They especially appreciated our philosophy that we never simply say no; instead, we work with each couple to say yes or find a way to make their vision come to life.

We also asked what ultimately convinced them to book with us right away, and the answer we heard again and again was simple: the team. From the very first conversation, couples felt supported, welcomed, and confident that they were in the right hands. Moments like these remind us that while food is a huge part of the experience, it’s the people behind it and the connections we build that truly make it unforgettable.

Events like this are more than just tastings. They’re an opportunity for couples to envision their wedding day in a tangible way. From the flow of stations to the flavors their guests will enjoy, every detail starts to come to life.

We loved welcoming our couples to The Barns at Wesleyan Hills for this experience and can’t wait to see how each of them brings their unique vision to life. If this tasting was any indication, their weddings are going to be nothing short of unforgettable.
