Celebrating Your Love Story: A Wedding That Feels Unmistakably You

img blog celebrating your love story

At Connecticut Wedding Group, we believe your wedding should feel like you, not like a template, not like a trend, not like anyone else’s day.

Your story is layered. It’s shaped by where you come from, the meals that feel like home, the music that fills your car on long drives, the inside jokes, the milestones, the quiet moments that built your relationship. Your wedding should honor all of it.

Because no two love stories are the same, and your celebration shouldn’t be either.

Honoring Where You Come From

For some couples, that means incorporating traditions that have been passed down for generations. For others, it’s blending cultures in a way that reflects both families. And sometimes, it’s creating brand-new traditions that begin with the two of you.

We’ve had the honor of celebrating weddings that include:

  • Traditional tea ceremonies shared with parents and grandparents

  • Ketubah signings and spirited hora dances when the dance floor opens up

  • Nigerian traditions and grand entrances full of color and pride

  • Bilingual ceremonies so every guest feels included

  • Fusion menus that beautifully combine multiple heritages

But beyond the individual elements, what matters most is intention.

And that is always worth celebrating.

Flexible Connecticut Wedding Venues That Transform With Your Vision

One of the most important parts of choosing a wedding venue in Connecticut is finding a space that supports your vision.

Each of our venues offer a completely different backdrop, designed to transform around your celebration:

  • At The Barns at Wesleyan Hills, couples love embracing historic architecture and swaying willows paired with elements that speak to who they are as a couple.

  • At The Pavilion on Crystal Lake, waterfront ceremonies pair beautifully with details that combine their love story back lit by sunset receptions that feel both intimate and grand.

  • At Lyman Orchards Golf Club, expansive tented weddings accommodate large guest counts, specialty dance floors, extended family seating, and vibrant celebrations that honor tradition while feeling elevated and modern.

Whether your style is romantic and timeless, bold and colorful, modern and minimal, or deeply rooted in tradition, Connecticut Wedding Group venues adapt to you.

Farm-to-Table Wedding Catering That Reflects You

Food is one of the most powerful ways to celebrate culture and connection at your wedding.

As Connecticut’s exclusive farm-to-table wedding caterer for our venues, our culinary team collaborates closely with couples to design menus that feel personal and intentional.

That might include:

  • Incorporating family recipes

  • Designing fusion menus that represent both backgrounds

  • Preparing allergy-specific meals with care

  • Infusions of your favorite foods throughout the day

From passed hors d’oeuvres to late-night bites, your guests won’t just enjoy a meal, they’ll experience your story.

Dimitri is thrilled to be joining the Connecticut wedding group at the start of the 2025 season. He is joining us with what he likes to call “northern drive and southern hospitality”. The last 10 years in Charleston, South Carolina has given him experience in cooperate events, weddings, and restaurant management. He has also worked to help build and train teams from the ground up to produce the best experience internally and client facing.

His combined experience and passion in hospitality, and his degree in Interior Design help him to produce and execute beautifully detailed and thought out weddings from start to finish.

Wedding days can come with a whirlwind of emotions and seem to come to an end in the blink of an eye. Part of what Dimitri loves best is working closely with couples and their families to help navigate through those emotions on the special day, and to incorporate moments to pause and capture the beauty that comes with getting married!
