There’s nothing more special than seeing couples envision their wedding day at Riverbend. Meet Emma and Connor, and read their story of love and why Riverbend was the perfect choice.
“We met in 2016 at the University of Connecticut in Biology 101. We sat next to each other with a mutual friend and immediately started cracking jokes, but it wasn’t until 2 years later that things actually took off. The first few years of our relationship were long distance – Emma studying abroad in Paris, and Connor graduating, then moving back to New Jersey. We moved in together in 2020 and have been living in Brookline, MA ever since. We enjoy life the most when we are just simply together, laughing and being creative.
In February of 2025, 7.5 years into dating, Connor thought it was about time to pop the question. On our Valentine’s Day trip up to Montreal, Connor lured Emma out of the hotel with the promise of early morning chocolate crêpes, only to get down on one knee “on their way there”. There may not have been chocolate crêpes, but family and friends were eagerly awaiting to surprise and congratulate us around the corner. That weekend was spent riding the high of knowing we would spend our lives together and adventuring through the snowy city with the people we love.
The journey to find the perfect venue was not an easy one. Since Connor’s family is from New Jersey and Emma’s is from Massachusetts, there was lots of back and forth on where to host the big day. Connecticut eventually seemed like the only logical location, but what really sold us on Connecticut was discovering Riverbend. The converted mill really lends itself to the style and size of wedding we are looking to have. Plus, we heard how wonderful everyone at CT wedding group is from friends who were recently married at the Barns. We are SO excited to see this venue and our big day come to life!”
