Brianna and Alyson’s Love Story

At The Barns at Wesleyan Hills, Pride Month is about celebrating every kind of love story, and Brianna and Alyson’s story is one we feel incredibly lucky to be a part of.

What started as a friendship quickly turned into something much deeper. The two met while Brianna was completing an internship at the same place Alyson worked. After the internship ended, they continued spending time together through car dinners, long walks, and meaningful conversations which would ultimately build the foundation of their relationship.

As their connection grew stronger, Alyson became the person who gave Brianna the confidence and courage to come out to her family and friends. That support and unconditional love became the heart of their relationship: a foundation they describe as meaningful and unbreakable.

Their proposal story feels like something straight out of a movie.

The couple always joked about proposing at the same time. They even went ring shopping together, helping each other pick out styles they loved before placing their ring orders side by side. While waiting for the rings to arrive, Brianna started planning the proposal. After several weather delays, she finally found the perfect moment during a Friday night sunset at Lighthouse Beach in New Haven.

Knowing Alyson loves lighthouses, Brianna planned an after-dinner walk by the water. As they sat together on a bench in front of the lighthouse, Brianna began speaking and pulled a ring box from her purse—only for Alyson to pull a ring box from her pocket at the exact same time.

Hand in hand, they each told the other how much they loved them before asking her to marry them. What started as a running joke turned into a moment they’ll never forget.

For Brianna and Alyson, their wedding is about more than just one day. It’s about celebrating love in all its forms with the people who matter most.

“We want to show that love is love, no matter what, no matter where, and no matter who.”

When they toured The Barns at Wesleyan Hills, they immediately knew it was the perfect place to bring that vision to life.

“From the walk down to the willow tree, to walking through the cocktail space and entering the doors into the reception space, we were hooked.”

Beyond the venue itself, they shared that the support they’ve received throughout the planning process has made all the difference.

“We have always felt taken care of since day one. They are there for you through every step of the process and answer any questions you may have along the way.”

Stories like Brianna and Alyson’s are exactly why we love what we do. Every couple deserves a wedding day where they feel celebrated, supported, and completely themselves, and we’re honored to help create that experience.

This Pride Month, we’re celebrating love stories that inspire us, remind us of the power of authenticity, and show us that the best relationships are often built on friendship, trust, and unwavering support.

To Brianna and Alyson: thank you for sharing your story with us. We cannot wait to celebrate with you at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills.

His combined experience and passion in hospitality, and his degree in Interior Design help him to produce and execute beautifully detailed and thought out weddings from start to finish.

Wedding days can come with a whirlwind of emotions and seem to come to an end in the blink of an eye. Part of what Dimitri loves best is working closely with couples and their families to help navigate through those emotions on the special day, and to incorporate moments to pause and capture the beauty that comes with getting married!
